KFWB NEWS 98 will be launching a new service
on its award-winning website, kfwb.com,
called the "KFWB CHARITY GOLF ONLINE GUIDE" hosted by KFWB
Sports Anchor ERIC TRACY. Local charity golf tournaments will
now have a place to publicize their fund-raising events.
For the golfing public these fund-raising tournaments offer
golf enthusiasts the chance to play golf on many courses not
otherwise available to them. Now with just a mouse click,
golfers can check a 3-month schedule of upcoming tournaments
or charity organizers can register their tournaments online.
With
thousands of charity tournaments played on dozens of Southern
California golf courses every year, tournament organizers
have found it difficult to get exposure for their events.
Susan Harrison, Regional Director of Sales for American Golf
Corporation, says she hears that complaint and frustration
all the time. "We host over 5000 charity tournaments a year
in Southern California and tournament chairmen always want
advice on how to let the public know about their events. We
are excited about KFWB's gracious effort to use space on their
website as a clearinghouse for these events. We will gladly
direct organizations who book tournaments with us to kfwb.com."
Bob Thomas, Director of Communications for the 150,000 Southern
California Golf Association (SCGA), has expressed excitement
over KFWB's efforts with the Online Charity Golf page. FORE
MAGAZINE, the official publications of the SCGA, publishes
information about charity events, however, with long lead-times
and limited space there are only so many events FORE can publicize.
"Charity tournaments raise millions of dollars annually throughout
Southern California and anything that can help that process
increase is very, very welcome. This new KFWB site has that
potential and I welcome it whole-heartedly." FORE Magazine's
Upcoming Tournaments page will also direct it's readers to
kfwb.com
for a current listing of available tournaments.
Big Bothers of Greater Los Angeles (BBGLA) has two golf events
annually that are major fund-raisers for them. Keith Pagett,
BBGLA President & CEO, is thrilled about KFWB's plan. "Not
only might we attract more players through the KFWB Golf Page,
but it helps because we don't operate a website. We can now
direct interested parties to kfwb.com
for tournament information."
KFWB NEWS 98 (980 on the AM Dial) continues to serve as Southern
California's ONLY All-News Radio Station with around-the-clock
news and information, sports, business reports and the most
reliable "Traffic on the Ones!" Each month, millions of Southern
Californians log on to kfwb.com
website. One of the more popular pages is the Lexus Golf Update
featuring everything from tournament scores to instruction,
humor and more!
HOW DOES THE "KFWB CHARITY GOLF ONLINE GUIDE" WORK?
Tournament organizers and golfers will log on to kfwb.com
and click on "CHARITY GOLF." The page will give them two link
options - (1) Current Schedule of Tournaments
and (2) Register Your Tournament Here.
It's that easy!
The Current Schedule of Tournaments link will have a 3-month
calendar featuring dozens of tournaments in Los Angeles, Orange
County, Ventura and San Bernardino/Riverside county areas.
The Register Your Tournament Here link will be an online registration
form.
KFWB Sports Anchor ERIC TRACY, our resident golf expert,
is supervising this site. He can be reached by email at erictracy@earthlink.net
or via fax at 818-225-8256. Completed Tournament Registration
Information can be mailed to:
